Although many types of recipes are made from Cabbage, most people only know one or two recipes. Cabbage recipe
Vegetable stew
I suggest you cook a delicious and satisfying vegetable stew from a minimum of products in this recipe.
Ingredients
- White cabbage – 0.5 heads
- Potato – 0.7 kg
- Carrots – 2 pcs.
- Onion – 2 pcs.
- Soy sauce (optional) – 3-5 tbsp
- Vegetable oil for frying – how much will it take
- Water – 100-150 ml
- Seasoning for potatoes (optional) – 1 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Ground black pepper – to taste
Step by step recipe
Step 1 – Prepare ingredients for vegetable stew. Peel and wash potatoes, onions and carrots. Peel the cabbage from the top sheets, wash.
Step 2 – How to cook potato and cabbage stew:
Cut potatoes into large cubes.
Step 3 – Cut onion into large cubes.
Step 4 – Grate carrots on a fine grater.
Step 5 – Cut cabbage into strips.
Step 6 – Fry the potatoes in a preheated pan with vegetable oil for 7-8 minutes, until half cooked. Add salt, pepper, and, if desired, seasoning for potatoes. Place potatoes in a saucepan.
Step 7 – Fry the onion in a heated frying pan with vegetable oil for 3-4 minutes, until lightly golden.
Step 8 – Add carrots to onions. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, occasionally stirring until the carrots are soft. Salt a little in the process. Put the onions with carrots to the potatoes in a saucepan.
Step 9 – In a preheated pan with vegetable oil, fry the cabbage (under the lid, stirring occasionally) for 10-12 minutes. If desired, add soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
Step 10 – Put the cabbage to the previously prepared vegetables in a saucepan. To mix everything. Add water, 2-3 tbsp. l. vegetable oil.
Step 11 – Simmer the vegetable stew over medium heat, covered, occasionally stirring, for 20-30 minutes.
Step 12 – Vegetable stew is ready. Bon Appetit!
Single coleslaw
A very popular salad in North America, coleslaw has many regional variations, but its recipe commonly includes shredded raw cabbage, grated carrots, and chopped onions.
Ingredients
- ½ white cabbage
- 1 carrot
- 3 tbsp. mayonnaise
- 1 C. heavy cream
- 1 C. white vinegar
- 1 lemon
- fine salt and black pepper from the mill
Step by step recipe
Step 1 – Wash the half-white cabbage and chop it very finely.
Step 2 – Wash the carrot, peel it and grate it.
Step 3 – Cut the lemon in half and squeeze it to get the juice. Filter the lemon juice obtained to remove the pulp and any seeds.
Step 4 – In a bowl, vigorously whisk the mayonnaise with heavy cream, white vinegar, and lemon juice until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous sauce. (You can make the sauce with a mixer so that it is perfectly emulsified.)
Step 5 – Salt and pepper the sauce obtained according to your tastes.
Step 6 – In a salad bowl, mix the grated carrot and cabbage, mix them.
Step 7 – Pour the sauce on top and mix again.
Step 8 – Cover your bowl with cellophane paper, then reserve your coleslaw in the fridge for at least 15 minutes.
Step 9 – Serve your coleslaw chilled.
Tips
You can replace the white cabbage with green cabbage. You can also add sliced spring onions and/or 90 g golden raisins for a simple but even tastier coleslaw!

Step by step recipe
Step 1 – Peel the potatoes and cut them into slices.
Step 2 – Cut the green cabbage in 4, remove the ribs. Place the cabbage and potatoes in a large saucepan with coarse salt and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil then simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes.
Step 3 – Preheat the oven to 200°C (thermostat 6-7).
Step 4 – When the potatoes are cooked, so is the cabbage. Drain the vegetables then cut them into small pieces.
Step 5 – Mix them with a few pieces of butter, salt and pepper. Place in the ovenproof dish .
Step 6 – Cut the garlic sausage into 1 cm slices and place them on the hot vegetables.
Step 7 – Place in the oven until the sausage is lightly toasted (20 min).
Cabbage and Rice Pancakes
A hearty dish of simple products – rice and cabbage pancakes. Such mouth-watering rice balls with cabbage are prepared quite simply and turn out to be very tasty. Crispy crust and juicy middle – the perfect combination!
Ingredients
- White cabbage – 300 g
- Rice – 140 g
- Eggs – 2 pcs.
- Onion – 1 pc. (70 g)
- Wheat flour – 3 tbsp. spoons
- Salt – to taste
- Ground black pepper – to taste
- Vegetable oil (for frying) – 4-5 tbsp. spoons
Step by step recipe
Step 1 – Prepare a food list.
If desired, rice can be used already boiled – it will take about 450 g. Onions are suitable for both red and regular onions.
Step 2 – Rinse the rice, send it to the pan, pour about 300 ml of water, put on maximum heat, and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat to a minimum and, occasionally stirring, cook the rice for about 12-15 minutes until the liquid is absorbed.
Put the boiled rice on a sieve and cool slightly.
Step 3 – Finely chop the cabbage and place it in a deep bowl.
Step 4 – Peel the onion, cut into small cubes and send to a bowl with the cabbage.
Add rice, eggs, salt, and pepper Mix.
Step 5 – Pour in the flour. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
Step 6 – Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Put the cabbage-rice mass in the pan about 1-2 tbsp. Spoons and press lightly, forming small pancakes.
Step 7 – Fry rice pancakes with cabbage for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
The fried pancakes can be briefly laid out on a paper towel to absorb excess oil if desired.
Step 8 – Hearty rice and cabbage pancakes are ready. You can serve them to the table by adding sour cream, mayonnaise, ketchup, or any other sauce to your taste.
